The Cristalino Jungle Lodge is located in the Southern edge of the
Brazilian Amazon Rainforest, between the upper reaches of the Tapajós
and Xingu rivers, which have acted as barriers to the dispersion
of bird species.
This
region is entirely included as one of the " highest priority areas
for conservation of biodiversity" in the Brazilian Amazon as defined
by the project " Biodiversidade Amazônia" - Macapá Workshop/ 1999.
