Alta Floresta is served by a regional airline and a main paved road.
There is a daily flight on the week days and several coaches that
depart daily from Cuiabá, the state capital of Mato Grosso. Cuiabá
is served by daily flights from Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, the
most common entry points for international flights.
Passengers
must pass through Cuiabá in order to get to Alta Floresta. The most
common gateways in Brazil are: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro,
Manaus and Recife.

There
are excellent coaches in the Cuiabá - Alta Floresta - Cuiabá itinerary.
Usually they departure at night and arrive in the morning on a comfortable
trip.

Hotel Floresta Amazônica – Your first stop
When
you arrive in Alta Floresta, the Floresta tour staff will be waiting
for you. You will be taken to the nearby Hotel Floresta Amazônica,
for a welcome drink and lunch. According to your travel arrangements,
decided before your arrival, you will have two options:
•
If you are going to the Cristalino Lodge on the same day, you
can relax for a while at the Hotel, have lunch, walk in the hotel's
50ha forest reserve, stretch your legs or rest by the pool. Most
clients enjoy staying a couple hours in the hotel before heading
up to the Cristalino Jungle Lodge.
•
If
you are staying the first night in the Hotel, you can take the
day off to get used to the local weather and time. There is a
refreshing pool by the Hotel, plus you can do some walking on
the Hotel trails, where you may observe monkeys and birds. The
Hotel has an excellent cuisine. There is also the possibility
of spending your last night at the Hotel, according to the travel
arrangements made before your arrival.
The
transfer to the lodge
Alta
Floresta is your first destination before coming to the Cristalino
Jungle Lodge. Now it is time to go to the real adventure. Here is
some quick information:
•
Trip from Alta Floresta to the Teles Pires river bank: 1 hour
•
Vehicle : Land Rover Defender, Toyota Hilux or vans depending
on the size of the group.
•
½ hour by safe motor boats, equipped with life-jackets for every
passenger.
•
Remember to have you binoculars and camera handy during this trip
The
road ends at Teles Pires River, with clean waters and exuberant
forest. Then, the trip continues on safe boats as we enter the Cristalino
River, a clear, black-water river. The difference among the colors
is due to its mineral composition. The Cristalino River is very
beautiful to navigate. Enjoy it, you're in the Amazon! After 20
minutes or so you will arrive at the Cristalino Jungle Lodge. Welcome!
